Hello POL Users,

I understand that POL has a list of supported software and Battlestations:Pacific isn't one. However, I wanted to see if I could run the program through Steam in POL. The game would not start and when I tried running the debugger it reports - "Event unregister Deadbeef: stub" (please see debugger script below). It requested that I install the WIndows Live ID Assistant 6.5 "wllogin_32.msi", when I tried installing the msi file it says "installation ended prematurely...please restart system". I checked the wineHQ website, unfortunately the last person to run the game through steam was using Ubuntu 8 and very little follow-up information. Please tell me if there is anything I can do to remedy this problem or circumvent the ridiculous Games for Windows client in the game.

Thank you for your time and patience.

Check http://appdb.winehq.org and see if there is any information there. I think it may need Games for Windows Live or something. That link I posted is for Wine's app database. If someone has tested it through WIne, it will likely have test results that will help you on your way.

I did install Games for Windows after installing the steam client and the game. However, it askes for that windows live login files (which I installed and mentioned earlier) and it still gives an error message. Before posting this thread on the PlayOnLinux forum I did check winehq and the winehq forums to see if enyone had the same problem. The same problem does occur, but no one has addressed it.
