Can you post a bit of information about your system so we can determine if everything is installed?

  • Distro
  • 32-bit or 64-bit
  • video card/chip
  • video drivers

Isn't the Source Engine from Valve? If I am not mistaken, all of Valve's games (portal, team fortress, etc.) have native Linux versions, so there is no need to run them through Wine/POL. What particular game are you trying to run?

The editor is called Hammer

I'll look up and see if they have a Linux version

IT appears Valve has not released a Linux version of Hammer for the SDK

WineHQ reports that it can run, but I've never tried

But is that the game that the OP is actually trying to run?

Dosbox just wrote "source games" so I'm not sure exactly which game he/she is trying to run.

From what I've read, most source games use Hammer editor for creating maps.  So Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, etc.

I know that, but he just said Source Engine games, not the editor. Of course, we are totally just swinging in the dark without knowing. hahaha. If it is anything but that editor, then the OP will likely need to use the native Linux version.
