Hello guys, I have a problem.
I'm a newbie Linux user and I've having some problems to play LoL at my pc. I followed some youtube tutorials about install LoL with PlayOnLinux but couldn't.
When I make some custom to test, it crashes at login screen. It doesn't even load the character picture then I receive the crash report.
What I'm missing? I did install all the Wine versions that contain League of Legends on name.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry about my bad english, I'm not a native speaker.

Hi,

I have the same problem.

I installed PoL version 4.2.5 yesterday (15 December 2014) from the repository, using yum on Fedora 20.

I then intalled League of Legends using the script, which dowloaded the installer and installed the game.

The game then updated itself succesfully.

I applied the tuxlol patch.

I logged in succesfully.

Everything looks good in the "lobby" screen.

Champion selection works fine.

After champion selection the problems start.

In the loading screen, the champion portraits are only shown for the most common champs.

There is no progress indicator or ping indication.

After a few seconds I get a bugsplat error.

After I hit continue, I arrive in the game lobby again with the orange button saying "Reconnect"

I hit the reconnect button which leads to a black screen and after several seconds I get a dialog advising me of connection problems and advising to check my firewall settings.

I tried adding the libgcrypt symlink but that did not help.

Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to fix this by setting "x3d_platform=1" in the game.cfg

What worked for me was,

On Mint Linux 17.1 I had to install some 32bit libraries

sudo apt-get install libtxc-dxtn0 libtxc-dxtn-s2tc0:i386

If you are using Fedora then

yum install libtxc_dxtn.x86_64 libtxc_dxtn.i686

When I had "x3d_platform=1" in my game.cfg before installing these files I was able to play but I could not select anything, after installing these files I removed x3d_platform=1 from game.cfg and everything worked perfect. I hope this works for you, LOL is fun :-p
