@steve - That log shows a vcrun2013 install crashing. I should have that up by the end of today, so hopefully that will help. I don't know, though. I would like a way to have it install, and set a registry value saying that it is installed, so perhaps the install will skip vcrun2013 if it already detects it. Not sure, though.
@Booman - Yeah, it is not a vcrun2012 error. I tried it again, and it I cannot get it working at all now. Is there still a bug report with WineHQ on that?

I'm sure there is a Bugreport, but I don't know if its active..
Can't find the Bugreport, but found the WineHQ's page. vcrun2012 still shows as "garbage"

I know. Like I said:
The normal install fails. It does not work if you try to install it with the .exe file. The vcrun2012 on winetricks AND POL are NOT the regular installs. They extract the DLLs out of the .exe and installs them manually via BASH. Those notes on appd.winehq.org only reflect working installers, not modified versions of the install.
It is very much now the d3dx9 installer works with POL. It doesn't run the exe. It extracts the DLLs and installs them. Don't worry about what appdb says about it at the moment, just because it is only refering to running a vanilla install on vaniall Wine. :)

Gotcha, its not actually installing Visual C++ Runtime, but just putting the right libraries in the right place.
Thanks

Exactly. Although, I still feel that I need to find the registry key that it installs and get that in the registry during the script, so that when a game goes to automatically install vcrun, it will see that it is there, and hopefully skip it or not give an error. I will be working through that when I get the chance.

I have several things to do today. I will occasionaly check to see if vcrun2013 is up yet. No need to hurry just for a game. Its like texting and driving. 'It can wait'.

I just tried the new wine 1.7.34 but still no Sims 4 install. I guess your still trying to find those registry enteries. I can't get the Qt5 patch installed in my Sims 3 vd. The qt5 dlls are missing and when I run the patch it says it can't read the patch. The game still works. I havent tried downloading new content yet. I hope all 4 The Sim games are working by the summer. Though I can't see any good reason for wanting to run The Sims one since its only 2D.
