I have installed these games (Sims Medival, Star wars battlefront, Rome Total War) with the playonlinux scripts, but none of them work.

Sims Medieval:

When I try to install sims medieval, It will download all of the dependencies and everything, but when it is about 95% installed, the install shield wizard will spew out an crash error. If I ignore it and attempt to launch it, The game creashes, and an error appears saying that it cannot find drive C.

I have gotten it to work in wine with the depencies supplied from winehq.

Could I simply install vcrun 2005,vcrun 2008,vcrun 2010, d3dx9, and mfc42.dll. Change video memory size to VMS. Will it work as good as the playonlinux script?

P.S. There is a message "you must disable anti priacy protection of this game\nif you want to play it with wine" How do you do that?

Star Wars Battlefront:

Rome Total War:

System: PCLinuXOS (Rpm rolling release)

PlayonLinux: 4.2.5

CPU: AMD FX quad core

GPU: Ati Radeon 5830

If I missed an important system spec just tell me as this is my first time doing this.

P.S. all of these games worked in wine. they were playable, but they did not function correctly. I will finish the other two when I have more time.

If it needs that, then we cannot help you. We do not condone piracy. Also, you did not post up your debug output, so we don't know what caused the crash. Did all of the games have that warning?

I suggest you read the documentation for PlayOnLinux and Wine, and also look up those games at http://appdb.winehq.org

There is a large amount of information easily searchable, but please refrain from asking about piracy of ANY kind.

How do you know that you need that? This is why you should do some reading and research on how Wine and POL works. You don't want to just go installing things willy-nilly, as it will likely not give good results. Plus, since those are all separate games, it would be impossible to answer your question in one post, as all of them probably have different reasons why they do not work, and we would also need the debug output from each and every one of those games to determine the issue.

Please post about a SINGLE game, with full computer specs and debug output, and we can take these one by one, if you want. If any of it has to do with cracks, though, we will not provide any support.

Please:
Post debug logs & full computer specs in first post
