How long does it take when you download a wine version manually?

Sorry to necro this thread but I'm also having problem of extremely slow download.  I've been downloadnig mono for over an hour now.  It seems to be going about 20 - 50 KB/s at the moment.

I tried download the same file using wget and was getting over 1 MB/s.  Now I tried again only a few minutes later and it's downloading with wget at 10 - 30 KB/s.

I don't mind so much as long as it gets there in the end but I just thought I'd let you know since well it seems to not be normal?

I'm from Australia and using DSL syncing about 15 Mbit.

They are downloading fine for me. Are you running through a proxy or something? I am in the US.

Same thing for me. I can download in Firefox and Steam and everything else at 10MB/s but PoL won't download at anything above 100KB/s. And I'm in the US on the east coast. No proxies. Wired connection. Arch Linux.

Actually, yesterday morning I experienced the same thing. Extremely slow for manual Wine downloads. I am in the western US.

It happens sometimes. Every now and then our servers get hammered. Yesterday and this AM I experienced no speed problems whatsoever. Actually, I haven't had speed issues in weeks. Unfortunately, the webz ain't perfect. ;)

I hate not to contribute anything to the topic and say "same here". But...

Same here.

1MB every 10 minutes. I am in the US and I am running GOOGLE FIBRE.

THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE. YOU'RE RIGHT FOR CALLING THIS AN 'ERROR'.

Okay after some research (greping the source code here and there). I found out that the bottleneck is not in the code. The bottleneck is on their french-hosted server (ipv6 2001:41d0:2:37ca::1e). Seems to be slow with all their downloads.

Admins - you should think about mirrors or having downloads brought in directly from the source (ie winehq, mono, ect.) Becuase installing skyrim is an overnight task at the moment.

Hi,

Can you try on ipv4 and tell if there is any difference?

Thanks
