Hello, I tried to run Rome and Medieval II Total War through playonmac by installing Steam first and then installing the game through Steam. When I launched Rome: Total War, I was stuck on the loading screen indefinetly. When I tried launching Medieval II: Total War, I crash with the error message "Medieval II encountered an unspecified error" after the intro movie. I'm using PlayonMac 4.2.4 with the wine engine 1.7.22 I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2012) Specs: Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
If it helps, I also tried to use Wineskin to run Medieval II/Rome via Steam through the same method mentioned above. However, I run into the same problem of not being able to play (stuck at loading screen/crash after intro).
Thanks in advance for the assistance. |

Here's the debug, I'm not very experienced with Wine so I'm not sure what the problem is. When I tried to login to Steam and launch Medieval II, after the intro movie the game crashes with an error message "Medieval II has encountered and unspecified error": 07/28/14 07:49:14] - Running wine-1.7.22 Steam.exe (Working directory : /Users/zachary01pd2014/Library/PlayOnMac/wineprefix/Steam/drive_c/Program Files/Steam) fixme:ver:GetCurrentPackageId (0x33e4e0 0x0): stub fixme:advapi:EventRegister {47a9201e-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361bc6f}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041ce8, 0x3f041ce0 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {58a9201e-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361bc70}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d20, 0x3f041d18 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {3fa9201e-73b0-43fe-9821-7e145359bc6f}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041cb0, 0x3f041ca8 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {1432afee-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361b433}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d58, 0x3f041d50 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {4372afee-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361b519}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d90, 0x3f041d88 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {47a9201e-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361bc6f}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041ce8, 0x3f041ce0 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {58a9201e-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361bc70}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d20, 0x3f041d18 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {3fa9201e-73b0-43fe-9821-7e145359bc6f}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041cb0, 0x3f041ca8 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {1432afee-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361b433}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d58, 0x3f041d50 fixme:advapi:EventRegister {4372afee-73b0-42ce-9821-7e134361b519}, 0x3f0070b0, 0x3f041d90, 0x3f041d88 fixme:process:SetProcessShutdownParameters (00000100, 00000000): partial stub. fixme:imm:ImmGetOpenStatus (0x12e3398): semi-stub err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. I tried to launch Rome: Total War from Steam again and I got an error from Wine this time. The debug list is below. This happened when I launched Rome: Total War from Steam itself (Steam was downloaded from the playonmac install menu and Rome/Medieval II from the Steam application). Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000129 in 32-bit code (0x43a8fe00).
