Hi

I'm running Linux Mint Cinnamon 17 64-bit. After a lot of difficulty I thought I'd found a package of Wine files that didn't instantly crash after a couple of clicks. These are:

wine 1.6 / wine 1.6-amd64 / wine 1.6-i386:386 /wine-gecko 2.21 / libwine-gecko 2.21 / wine-mono 0.0.8 / ia32-lib, plus others auto-marked by Synaptic for installation.

I got as far as downloading from the German website (Elster Formular is the German online income tax return, it is supported software in PoL's Office category)

Then Wine crashed, so I came here, registered, and soon found the Elster page with a big blue Download button on it.  On clicking, I got this error message:

The address wasn't understood

Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (playonlinux) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Can you please explain what I might have done wrong, and/or what other software I might need to use?
What's the secret to getting Wine to work properly on a Linux Mint 64-bit system?

I have a 32-bit LMC17 on a live USB, in case you're telling me Wine & 64-bit arch just don't get on.

Thanks in advance

Tony
