Hey guys

Ubuntu 64Bit 14.04 was used

wine and playonlinux had the latest updates.

Using Nvidia GT 540M

Intel (R) Core(TM) i7-2630 QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz

12GB RAM

but this is pretty much how it went,

after play league for like around 20mins the FPS would drop alot around enemies.

it was usually around 40, but once it hit around the 20 min mark, when i was around enemies the fps would drop to about 10-15, and when they were not around it would go back up to 30-40

Anyone have any ideas of why this is happening ?

Thanks

cpu overheating? starting to throttle? lowering frequencies automatically etc.

that can be one of the issue.

Not sure if this is the issue but...

Are you running proprietary nvidia drivers or open-source nouveau drivers?

If you are unsure easy way to check is to run this command in terminal:

$ lspci -vnn | grep VGA -A 12

Amongst the output should be a line saying:

"Kernel driver in use: "

If it says nouveau at the end then that is probably your issue, and you should install the nvidia drivers instead.

Hope this helps!
