This works on linux natively.  Install the Steam client for Linux and install that way.  Most Valve titles are native now (Portal 2, CS:GO are not yet).

Exactly!  Portal 2 runs GREAT in Linux!  Most Valve-made games that are made with Source are already available in Linux.

Word. Every Valve release I have played runs like a mofo in Linux. Distro be damned.

I played the entire Portal 2 in Mint with my GeForce 550 Ti and it ran beautifully!  Never had a problem
