Medal Of Honor crashes on starting. Please Help!

Hi all,

first, here's are my specs

PlayOnLinux 4.2.2 with Wine 1.6.2

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit
Processor: Intel® Pentium(R) CPU 2020M @ 2.40GHz × 2
Graphics: Intel® Ivybridge Mobile

My problem is that after the first installation the game always crashed upon starting, with a  "wine internal errors - invalid parameters received" error. I then reinstalled the game and it continued to crash, this time without the previous error, but now with one from playonlinux:"Error in main
Medal of Honor - Allied Assault War Chest crashed".

I've tried using various versions of WIne, but the outcome was the same. I would appreciate any help. I tried looking for solutions but I couldn't find any. So thank you in advance!

p.s. This is what the POL debugger showed:

Allied Assault is an older game, so it should run fine in PlayOnLinux.

Can you play any other games in Linux?
Have you installed 32-bit libraries for Ubuntu?

Hi, thanks for the response!

Yes, I've played multiple games on POL, old and new, i.e. Deus Ex and Sam&Max with no problems. I just installed 32-bit libs and the game again crashed, only now the "internal errors - invalid parameters received" is back...

Can you post another debug? That last one didn't show the entire output

1. Launch PlayOnLinux
2. Select Medal of Honor
3. Click Debug (on the right)
4. Wait for game to crash
5. copy all debug output

There has to be something else that is causing problems.

There are some really good tips on WineHQ Medal of Honor
When using Wine 1.3 or newer

__GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700

MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2003

I honestly don't know where to put this code when you launch the game.
Maybe in the Configure area at the General tab?
There is an "arguments" textbox where you can paste code that runs in the console when your game runs.

Someone also mentioned a native Linux installer: Medal of Honor Linux
for the CD ROM version

No problem. Sounds like people have been able to run it in the past. So let us know if you get it running
