Distro: Ubuntu 12.04 precise x86_64
Wine: 1.2

Hello. I succesfully installed FIFA 11 but when I'm trying to launch it game crashes.

Here's debugger log:

[12/05/13 17:24:31] - Running wine-1.2 fifa.exe (Working directory : /home/usr1/.PlayOnLinux/wine/linux-amd64)
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\fifa.exe"

I already tried to copy "fifa.exe" to "system32" folder on that virtual drive but it's not  a solution. I'd be grateful for any suggestion.

When I tried to open fifa.exe from game folder, where fifa is installed it still doesn't work.

Try clicking "Configure"
Then go to the Miscellaneous Tab
Select the FIFA virtual drive on the left
Click "Run a .exe file in this virtual drive
Navigate to the game folder in Program Files and look for the fifa.exe

If it launches from the fifa.exe then all you have to do is create a new PlayOnLinux shortcut.

If its not there, maybe it was installed in another virtual drive?
I recommend doing a manual installation so you are aware of the libraries needed to install FIFA and the name of the virtual drive.

Hey!

Trying to get this game to work I had a different error, wanted to share solution here.

In my case I had a VC90 library problem (builtin, functions non present, native, not found). I had to dig around quite a lot till I found this:

Which one worked?

cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Adobe/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS5/ mv msvcp90.dll msvcp90.dll.bak mv msvcr90.dll msvcr90.dll.bak

or

Try renaming the vc90 manifest (the one with "dead.beef" in the name) in the wineprefix's windows/winsxs/manifests directory. Just append something to the end so it's easy to revert.

Sorry, the last one was the clue. I renamed the "dead beef" file and voilà!
