I don't know if I'm putting this in the correct area (sorry if it is so), but I did find out a solution for the issue that after following the instructions to the letter for installing Terraria (and after the dxinput.exe error when it attempts to install a crash fix) for the keyboard input to Wine.

It appears that while I have it set for emulated desktop (default via. the script last I checked) it will accept keyboard input until I start Terraria after the successful install. Afterwards I must disable emulated desktop or I will not be able to send ANY keyboard input to that Wine install (esp. since I didn't check "Remember password" when logging into Steam).

OS: Xubuntu 13.10 64-bit

I just played a small few in-game days already and it runs nicely. I thought I'd let this be known if there are anyone out there that can get the "no keyboard input" problem solved with this. Maybe the errored-out dxinput.exe install would be causing this?
