Hello!

I am new to this forum and hope this is the correct place to post this. I am also in no way a computer programer or anything like that, so I understand if all of this is a bit over my head, and I should maybe just forget the whole thing. Thank you for your time!

My end goal is to install Banished. I am following the instructions
provided here.
http://banished-wiki.com/wiki/Tutorials/Banished_on_Mac_and_Linux

Today, I installed PlayOnMac 4.2.2 I am running an iMac 10.6.8 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of memory.

I am running into problems when installing Wine using PlayOnMac. I click on the latest version. Hit the over arrow, the wizard does its thing, its gets to "Extracting" and then just quits out of the wizard, not appearing to have installed Wine. I tried several different versions all with the same outcome. If I continue along in the instructions when I get to step #6 there are no Wine versions listed, only "System". If I click System it eventually says there was an error and I cannot access the game.

Please let me know if I can offer anymore information, I tried to be as thorough as possible. Thank you for your help!

That's normal, there's nothing to "install" really. Wine will be used when a new virtual drive is created, but at that point this is just file copying.

If I continue along in the instructions when I get to step #6 there are no Wine versions listed, only "System".

Do you install 32bit versions of Wine?

Pierre.

Thanks for your response Pierre!

I just tried to install the latest version of Wine 1.7.14. Is that 32-bit? How would I know which ones are 32? Is there a list somewhere I could reference?

Thanks for you help!

Wine versions management window has two tabs on top, one 32bit, one 64bit.
If you didn't notice it, you must be installing 32bit versions.
