that's ok, it's my fault, it should be uppercase:

find . -name Agent.exe

One of the lines should be something like "./users/Public/Application
Data/Battle.net/Agent/Agent.exe"

Then you can use the cd command to go to this directory and launch the Agent.exe (don't forget the quotes):

cd "./users/Public/Application Data/Battle.net/Agent/"
./Agent.exe -nohttpauth

After this, launch Hearthstone. It should work.

Also, maybe take a look at something like this :p

Ok.. something is wrong.. I did everything like you said (and I think right, because wine had actualized [its still 1.6.2]) but the result is this : http://imgur.com/3Qh8r6k

Try using the battle.net launcher executable instead of the Agent.exe

I've had it manually instead for a while and that's how I fixed the sleeping launcher problem

Welcome to linux/wine gaming :D
I dumped games on wine because i couldn't get anything to work properly. I just stick to linux native games on steam now.

Hi Guys,
I am not very technical at all I was happily running Heartstone for about 2 weeks on Linux Mint 16 with out any issue.

i used these instructions to get the game working without a hitch

http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Play-Blizzard-s-Hearthstone-Heroes-of-Warcraft-on-Linux-424410.shtml

But it appears Mint has updated and now I am unable to get in to Heartstone.

Closed Your game timed out as it was requesting data from the HeartStone utility service. Please relaunch Heartstone to connect

I have tried with another account and I get exactly the same error.

So I am presuming this install is now corrupt

hoshpack: my guess would be either that you don't have the Direct3D library override installed, or else your video card drivers aren't loaded.

What video card are you using? (try: lspci | grep VGA)

Is hardware rendering working in your os? Try glxgears, does is run fast? try glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" does it say yes?
Were you using proprietary video drivers before you upgraded? Have you reinstalled / reactivated them since the update?

monban: I have exactly the same error messages as hoshpack on his post on previous page when pressing "play" from the battle.net client.

I'm coming here from lubuntu 13.10 which I did not use, and which I today started to, upgrading it to 14.04. And only after this upgrade I started installing programs, including playonlinux and wine on the way. I followed this guide to install hearthstone: https://plus.google.com/+MarkusWeller/posts/9qGcNMoH7oK

edit to note on above guide: While installing PlayOnLinux, it wanted me to install some wine 1.6.x packages also, dependancies or such and so I did. After setting hearthstone up with above guide, I chose 1.7.3 amd64 version of wine to be installed (I have 64 bit proc)

To answer your questions:

lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Barts PRO [Radeon HD 6850]

glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh.  The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
299 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.626 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.014 FPS
XIO:  fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0"
after 1991 requests (1991 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

the glxgreas seemed to run normally, I exited with ctrl+c, don't know if that fatal IO error was because of this exiting.

glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"
direct rendering: Yes

Were you using proprietary video drivers before you upgraded? Have you reinstalled / reactivated them since the update?

- I don't think I have installed any video drivers. All video related have worked well out of the box until hearthstone. Well that's just flash video and some mp4 video files I guess.

-----

Ok I edit my post and answer my solution as no one yet answered.

I installed proprietary drivers for my video card and hearthstone works now. Didn't need to install or configure playonlinux or wine after this.

monban & fuloating: hey guys.....

since my last post i reset my system with ubuntu 14.04, but it still doesnt work though... "sigh"... at least i got a step further...

i also installed the latest proprietary drivers via Intel Graphics Installer and ran ur commands and got the same results as fuloating(apart from the PCI-Slot command).

It didnt show the error message anymore, BUT now it seems that i got some Battle.net connection difficulties...

after pressing the Play button it shows this:

Closed!
Hearthstone got disrupted as it was linking up to the Battle.net service. Please wait a few minutes and try re-launching the game.

No clue from here on... :/

I had the same issue with the first script, but not with the second one. So I merged them both and it worked allright for me. I don't know which tag I can use to post a script on here, when I find out, I can post it for you.

I tried installing Hearthstone with both scripts, with wine 1.7 and 1.6.2. I ran the nohttpauth parameter too. I pretty much tried everything, but I keep getting the "game timed out" screen when I start the game. Someone got any idea?

I uninstalled POL and installed the game on wine 1.6.2 directly. It worked fine for me ;) Of course, I overrided the libraries needed to run the game.
