hi everyone, this is my first time on playon linux. i am triing to run logworks 3 from innovative motorsports. it is a tool for tuning engines using an O2 meter. it was designed to run on a windows system but i am running ubuntu 13.10 i have tried installing this before using playonlinux and had repeated crashes.
this time i tried installing it and i can get into the program but it says graphics error and then crashes. if i dont click on the error window i can use some of the features in the program but only for a minute or so before it locks up.
the error is "Choose Pixel Format failed"
any ideas?
this was a fresh install of wine and playonlinux

Hi, No error message about OpenGL when PlayOnLinux starts? Also try running the program in debug mode (select the shortcut, then click on "Debug" in the side panel), that could reveal some details about the failure. Otherwise maybe the program expects a specific color depth, try changing your X server color depth. Such problem can be painful because X doesn't allow switching color depth on the fly, and workarounds are a bit complicated. So, first get debug logs Edited by petch

If your "system" Wine is 1.4.x, try with Wine 1.6.1 Configure button > (select your program virtual drive) > General tab > Wine version click on "+" button to open Wine versions manager, install Wine 1.6.1 When done close the window, select 1.6.1 in the dropdown list next to "Wine version" and rerun your program

alright i tried using wine version 1.7.8 and i got a different readout
[12/14/13 07:30:54] - Running wine-1.7.8 LogWorks3.exe (Working directory : /home/rumlesj1/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/johnsdrive/drive_c/Program Files/LogWorks3) Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded. does this help any? its saying something about no driver found.

Really strange you're getting this and no OpenGL warning when PlayOnLinux starts, because it really looks like your accelerated 3D display is broken. Check your video driver and associated libraries (including the 32 bit libraries, could be that it's just that part that's missing).

this system is using the recommended graphics driver. there are 3 other proprietary drivers but i dont think i should use them.
not exactly sure what i am looking for when u say 32 bit libraries. (im kinda new at this) i know that i installed a 64bit version of ubuntu, and the logworks 3 software is no doubt 32 bit. could this be the problem?

i have read about a similar problem when using google sketch up and i tried to use the same method they used by going through the registry editor but i was unable to find my program in the registry.
