Hello everyone,

I installed Ableton 9 through PlayOnLinux on a virtual drive. The install was clean and the splash screen shows perfectly. Right when Ableton should start, I get this in debug:

Warning: memory above 0x80000000 doesn't seem to be accessible.
Wine requires a 3G/1G user/kernel memory split to work properly.

and

ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: Permission denied
mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory
mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory
mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory
mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory

Pleaseee help. I really want to use Ableton and I don't want to go back to Windows.

Hi,

From my understanding the first message means that the kernel you use is not compatible with the use of Wine; Since you told nothing about the distro you used, I don't know what are your available choices here.

open /dev/snd/seq failed: Permission denied Could be that your distro requires you to be in audio group to use audio devices, at least that a common approach

mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory - can be anything, maybe related to the first problem
