I've been trying to install skyrim through steam but it crashes when I try to login with my username and password.
I was able to install and run steam using the steam POL script but not using the skyrim script.
The steam error report suggests it might have something to do with 32 bit code on my 64 bit system?
Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code (0x7c9a3aea). ...
System information: Wine build: wine-1.5.20 Platform: i386 Host system: Linux Host version: 3.7.0-7-generic
Can anyone help?

I never tried skyrim under linux but if you look at wine resaults I think it should run without a problem http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=24787&iTestingId=81154
So download Wine 1.7.7 install steam from pol install menu then pres steam icon press configure and in wine version select 1.7.7 and to be sure install dxfullsetup vcrun2008 xact give this a go

I have this problem also. Steam crashes on startup with Wine 1.5.20 that is used in the script. I have tried with 1.5.29 and Steam seems to start up fine with that, but of course the install script won't complete due to the crash. Maybe some recent Steam update caused this?
I have installed Skyrim once before and it worked, but not anymore. I'm running Xubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit.
