Hey guys. For some reason the game sees my video card as an nvidia geforce 8800gtx when it's a 750m gt. Is there something wrong with the drivers I have installed? All I did was install the recommended drivers when I switched to linux.

Its really hard to determine what causes this, but I've seen it with other games like Crysis 2.
Are you still able to play the game and do you have a decent frame rate with that modern card?

Did you install the Nvidia proprietary drivers?

I was able to run Path of Exile with Wine 1.6-rc4 and I bet newer versions of will like Wine 1.7.6 will probably work too.
Try testing it with newer versions of wine in PlayOnLinux.

Thanks for the reply man. I tried Wine 1.6-rc4 and it still sees my video card as an 8800. The game runs, but not very well. My fps drops to 5-10 frequently even when there's very little on the screen. Excuse my ignorance, but is there something extra I have to do to install the Nvidia drivers? When I run the additional drivers on ubuntu, it says I'm using the recommended nvidia driver.

Maybe search online for Ubuntu and Nvidia drivers.
I'm guessing you are in the correct area when using "Additional drivers"
Mint is very similar.
In Mint I go to Synaptics Software Update and search for Nvidia
I'll select the packages I want and then let it install.

Does your Ubuntu do the same thing?
