Hi.

I'm having a problem with PoE on linux. I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 (or
13.04, not sure) and when i'm in game, sometimes the problem "appears".
It's about it that when i'm trying for example to type something, there
just appears "q" where the text should be and only sometimes right
signs. Additionally when i'm on an "instance" (or map with mobs if u
want), sometimes my "q" skill locks and it is being used all the time
till i click "q" again (and it doesn't always help). I think that it's
happening because all keyboard keys are "read" like "q". But this
situation isn't permanent and sometimes game is "normal". And there is
my question: what is this problem caused by and how can i solve it?

P.S.: I'm using PlayonLinux.

P.S.2.: Sorry for my english ;p

I have read that disabling GLSL in your PlayonLinux Display options can help with freezing and improve frame rates.

What version of Wine are you using?
Do you have a Nvidia, Intel or AMD video chip?

when i type wine --version in terminal i get "wine- 1.4.1"

i have AMD video chip

Thats because Wine isn't associated with PlayOnLinux Wine.
Terminal will only show you Wine.
So we are only concerned about the version of Wine PlayOnLinux is using.

Were you able to disable GLSL and then test Path of Exile again?

Make sure your current AMD drivers are installed too.

I was able to run Path of Exile with Wine 1.6-rc4 in my Guide
I bet the newer Wine 1.7.5 or 1.7.6 would probably work too... I havn't tested them, but maybe its time for me to test them out.

I tried to run PoE with GLSL disabled, but after game loaded to login screen, there only appeared HUD, without background. After login, there was only HUD too and after i logged to my character, the game crashed after loading.
I will try to setup game with Your guide and i'll post there if game works like it should.

I'm not surprised. Any time I disable GLSL there has been graphical artifacts.
Ok scrap that idea.

Yes please post here or on the gamersonlinux forum any errors you are getting or any problems that happen.

Besides your video chip and drivers, it should run fine.

Did the guide help?
I was able to play it with a few frame drops here-and-there, but it was playable.
I mostly had frame drops when loading the level, after that it was fine.
I also have a GeForce 550 Ti which can handle most games.

If its running ok, make sure to mark this thread as "Success"
