Havn't heard that one before.
Did you install LOL from the PlayOnLinux scripts?
What libraries were installed?
Ex: d3dx9, IE8, wininet, vcrun2005, vcrun2008

Those libraries are pretty important to get the game running.

Definitely try the Wine 1.5.24-LeagueOfLegendsStore because it fixes some of the store crashing problems.
I've heard that the new League of Legends update is breaking things in Wine.
I think there is even a Wine 16 or 1.7 for League of Legends

Ok, good.  That means you installed from a script.

Download Wine Version:
  1. Launch PlayOnLinux
  2. Click Tools
  3. Click Manage Wine Versions
  4. Select version of Wine on the left side
  5. Click the Left Arrow in the middle to download
  6. When finished, the new version of Wine will be on the left side
  7. Close Wine Manager
This way you can download and test any version of Wine with your game.  Wine does not affect your installation or virtual drive.  Pretty nice feature.

You can check what libraries are installed by doing this...

Check Installed Libraries:

  1. Launch PlayOnLinux
  2. Click Configure
  3. Select GW2 virtual drive
  4. Click Wine Tab
  5. Click Configure Wine
  6. Click Libraries Tab
  7. Go down the list of installed libraries
Feel free to post them here.

I can't select the libraries to copy them, or i don't know how :)

Meantime i will try the new .5.24-LeagueOfLegendsStore.

The screenshot is fine.
Looks like there should be more libraries installed.
When I played it a few months ago I needed all of the libraries I listed above:
  • d3dx9
  • IE8
  • wininet
  • vcrun2005
  • vcrun2008
also make sure your Windows Version is set for Windows XP because otherwise you can't install IE8.

Now with wine 1.5.24-LeagueOfLegendsStore it works ok, some icons are red, but all works ok and it's very playable, even alt-tab multitasking with multi monitor multi desktops works nice.
Indeed PlayOnLinux it's a very nice tool, before install i thought it's a replacer for Wine.

Ty for your help, very nice explained :)

No problem, glad you got it working.
Keep an eye on those Wine versions in PlayOnLinux because they will probably release new League of Legends patches for newer versions of wine.

Glad you didn't have to add those extra libraries. Interesting...

oh, I didn't notice the scrollbar. Those libraries should go all the way down to the bottom of the window.
Anyways, its working so our work is done. Enjoy!
