I am ableto start LOL andit runs through the updating screen, then comes to the "Press orange button to PLAY screen".
Pressing PLAY resulst in a window with lol icon, the message "The application requires a version of Adobe Air which can not be found"
IThe relevant error message from debug log is this.
err:module:import_dll Library DNSAPI.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Riot Games\\League of Legends\\RADS\\projects\\lol_air_client\\releases\\0.0.1.53\\deploy\\Adobe AIR\\Versions\\1.0\\Adobe AIR.dll") fixme:d3d:swapchain_gl_present Render-to-fbo with WINED3D_SWAP_EFFECT_FLIP
First I tried going into configure and installing AdobeAir package, but that made no difference.
As suggested in the windows message, I've gone to the url and downloaded the AdobeeAir installer, but am lost as to what to do next.
Trying wine adobeairinstaller.exe in the lol virtual c_drive crashed.

That was the guide that I actually followed(thank you for thatm very helpful), except I used the wine 1.7-legue-of-legends. Can it be that critical?
I have been through and reinstalled all the libraries listed, but the same error occurs. Previously I had tried loading the Adobeair lbrary, but the error still occurs.
I followed the advice with the adobeair error on screen and downloaded the adobeairinstaller, but when I try "wine AdobeairInstaller, it stops with the same error."
I am currently trying to use ie8 under the LoL virtualdir to download aother copy and check that that the download via linux didn't introduce a glictch.

Please update us if you have any success. This seems to be a problem with the new release of League of Legends.... but I havn't tried the Wine 1.7-league-of-legends patch yet. I'll have to download this weekend, try it out and then update my guide. That is... if it actually runs

The other thing about your guide is that on my AMD64 kernel based system, with the latest POL(V4.2.1) there is an additional option of 64bit or 32bit installation. You might want to add in a note about it, even if just to mention it. It is in the first option(if I remeber correctly). There are both 32bit and 64bit versions of all three kernels mentioned in this thread.
Hmm, looks like I'm going to have to try another install(when my download quota is back to parity(%quota<=%month).

Oh yeah, I have been adding a note on my current guides. I forgot to add it to LoL guide. Thanks Yeah, always stick to 32-bit virtual drive Is there a way to backup the League of Legends game files so you don't have to download it again?

Actually yes, I was able to login and play a game very easily. The trick? Before you login, click the gear at the top-right of the client window Uncheck Peer-to-Peer Click Save I have a feeling the Peer-to-Peer and dbghelp work together for security. So turning it off allowed me to login, start a game and play just fine. There is still an icon problem with the Store. I will request a Store version of Wine 1.7.4 and we'll see if it fixes it.

Running on 1.7-LeagueofLegends. I can click on the store and all I get is a blank screen. In game their are red icons instead of some pictures but it doesnt crash I tried the same running 1.5.4 LeagueOfLegendsStore and seemed to get the same results. I encountered another problem however. With the display size set to 1024x768 (laptop screen 1328x768) I could not see the bottom of the screen so I couldn't move the camera down. I tried reducing the height but all that did was crop the picture so I couldn't see the top or bottom. I tried to change it ingame but it wouldn't show me anything lower than 1024x768. However when I moved to my monitor the ingame video settings gave me a range of resolutions and the wine terminal seemed to adjust automatically. Any help would be great but even if I have to hook up to a monitor each time im happy cause Im playing.
Thanks

Try setting Virtual Desktop in Wine Configuration use 1328x768 as the resolution Then launch your game Make sure in-game is set to fullscreen Now you should be able to see everything. I didn't realize the store worked when in a match. I click the Store button before joining a match and it crashes.

Sorry I should have clarified. The ingame shop works not the store where you buy with IP etc. I tried using it at 1328x768 but the bottom of the screen overflows to a different workspace so I can't click on it. I think this is because it doesn't go full screen and therefore has the two top window bars which pushes it down. Also i there an easy way to upload images directly. Thanks

Gotcha Well that is strange, havn't heard of windows going outside the desktop before. Not sure about that one. I will probably have to be trial-n-error on your end. If your LInux desktop is set to 1328x768 and the virtual drive is the same... the virtual desktop should appear as fullscreen. No way to upload images here on POL. Sorry
