First time on this forum, newbie to PlayOnLinux, and not very experienced in Linux.

When installing Torchlight II (TL2), a notice calls attention to a cosmetic graphics glitch wherein textures are torn, which can be resolved by turning off shadows. I have done so, as well as turning off other graphics options to reduce quality, but am still getting a cosmetic glitch that is causing a pixelated sparkling effect on some well defined parts of the character, and fully on pets and monsters. For example, the character has a headband and sash around his shoulders, and those alone are glitched. A background NPC has the same effect in some areas of his hair. See the attached image.

In the meantime, anybody seen this and have a solution?

SOLVED

Problem solved! Per some suggestions from my post on the Runic Forums (Torchlight II forum) (http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=58244&p=485569#p485569), I went back in and turned off additional video options, including something about "hardware skinning". That seemed to do it without significantly affecting frame rate. Now I'm working on other issues - cursor offset which I think I have solved per the same Runic post, and that the sound spontaneously turns off shortly into the game.

Sad that the plethora of Linux sound issues can't be significantly resolved. I suspect that if they could, there might be a lot more users jumping off the Microsoft ship. My son is a software developer and avoids Linux just because of the many hardware issues. I understand the reason behind that, that the user community is too small for hardware manufacturers to spend much time, money, effort in doing driver development. Too bad! End of rant! :)
