So I finally got League of Legends running again without the bugsplats and when going into a game and buying an item at the shop I see a couple of items that are completely red. Just plain bright red.  I don't even see an outline of the item just red.

That's this bug:
http://www.playonmac.com/en/topic-9986-League_of_Legends_fix_ingame_shop_icons.html

But the workaround is no longer compatible with the latest release of the game.

Dang, I was afraid of that.  The game gets updated and breaks our patched version of Wine.
What do we do now?

It doesn't break the patch, 1.7-LeagueOfLegends is patched (as the name implies), that's why you get red squares instead of crashes.
But the tool to replace the unsupported icons with supported ones no longer works.

Yeah I have used the above mentioned and saw the red icons. The game never crashed after that, but I don't fully understand the tool you are talking about...

There used to be a patch you could install via PlayOnLinux installer menu called "League of Legends Item Shop Fix" or something of that nature. You installed it once, and it would fix most of the red icons for ingame items in League.

Unfortunately, after a recent patch when Lucian was released, functionality was broken for the red icon fix.

Ah, is that what Petch is speaking of?
I'm not surprised this sort of thing happens. Developers aren't making their game for Wine in Linux, its for Windows, so there will always be side-effects when we run in in Wine.
I hope PlayOnLinux devs will come up with some clever fix for it.

Yeah I'm sure thats what he's talking about.

Actually some new patch got released for LoL and some of the other bugs I had when Lucian was released have been resolved by Riot's latest patch. I'm gonna try out the script again and report back in the forums, since I found the way to run the script manually.

Nope. Red Item icon fix doesn't work. Now I'm stuck trying to repair the installation. :(

Here is a post on WineHQ's

Hey guys,

we created a new tool for fixing the red squares in the shop as the old tool is not working anymore with the newest patch.

You can find it at bitbucket: bitbucket.org/Xargoth/tuxlol

Have fun!

There's a new tool, but it needs to be scripted:

Hahaha, I am reinstalling now, and I'll try the new script right after.

I noticed the page says the script has to be run every patch. That kinda sucks, since LoL patches so often, but oh well. At least it more directly addresses the root issue, rather than making a gimmicky fix like our last patch did. The last patch didn't even catch all the item icons, just most of them. Hopefully this one works really well.

The new patch works great. I just can't get my RP store to work still 3.

It's ok, it almost never works, and now I just can't spend money on the game. I'm cool with that lol.

Can someone please teach me how to use the bin.tar.gz file. How don't know how to intall it either :(

you don't need to install it, just extract, navigate to the folder, and run the scripts like the tutorial says (with directory to your League install in lieu of the example directory)

When extracting the tar.gz file I got a "Release" folder. I open the folder and I see 4 things: commandline.dll, ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll, LICENSE, tuxlol.exe, tuxlol.exe.config, Xargoth.TuxLoL.Core.dll

What do I run?

And I don't get what you mean when "(with directory to your League install in lieu of the example directory)"

I am a NOOB. sorry..
