How do I install GOG's Anvil of Dawn title? I tried the manual installation but the installation goes through goes to dosbox then the title screen crashes. Any assistance here. I'm Using ubuntu 64 (Mint 15). All other titles with installers work fine just issues with this one. Should be a simple matter of applying another games script to this process.
I woul like this to work and plan to donate as well.

If Anvil of Dawn is a Dos game, I suggest using the Linux DosBox for installing and playing it... I have a nice step-by-step guide here: Linux Dosbox

I also forgot to mention that GOG games usually come bundled with Windows DosBox so you can play them with a single click. You might want to look through the installation folders for a game folder. Once you have that, copy it to the dosgames folder I mention in the guide and then follow the rest of the guide on how to launch it. Also, you can use PlayOnLinux to install the initial game so you can get to these game files.

I used Wine for the intial install as Play on linux does not seem to get past the installer.I tried copying the dosboxanvil.conf and then following the guide to get the game to work. It then gives me a prompt in insert the cd. I also tried copying a secondary conf file to mount the anvil.dat to allow the game to play. No dice. I just get the prompt about inserting the cd. I was able to copy the game and I am very close to getting this to work. Its just getting the darn game executable to recognize this as a legit copy.
I was able to play briefly using Wine then dosbox then the game but I would like to have the game running natively in dosbox. Almost there....

Good news everyone, I got this working. I simply had to mount the anvil.dat correctly it was refencing a path that did not work. Thanks for the help your guide was invaluable.
