You probably have some crashed wineserver running in background, be sure to "Close" the game, or restart PlayOnLinux (should also stop everything it launched)

Ran Fallout 3 while operating under wine versions 1.6-rc5 and 1.5.4-xliveless3-rawinput3. Both boot to the launcher menu, but nothing happens after that. Install script logs below

1.6-rc5:

Obviously the install always happens using the Wine version used by the install script, 1.3.26-xliveless2.
A way around would be to fetch the script source, alter it, and "Tools > Run local script" it:

Yeah, that's what it looks like the script is saying, but I've uninstalled 1.3.26-xliveless2. Do you have any advice on how to completely remove this wine version?

What for? The install script will reinstall it, that's what it does.

Ok, I might have just had a derp moment. When you said to get wine 1.5.15, I thought you meant to go through the manage wine versions on PlayOnLinux.

I guess I'm confused on what you're asking me to do.

Would have been sufficient if the problem occurred during game execution, but from what I understand the problems start during the installation, so the install script itself has to be modified...

Do I have to do this myself, or does somebody else have that power?

I explained how to do it a few messages back

I assume you're talking about this message:

Terminal output:

wine: Call from 0x7bc4b400 to unimplemented function ADVAPI32.dll.StopTraceA, aborting

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31861 I'd try with Wine 1.5.15 or newer.
Maybe you'll need a more recent Wine version with a liveless patch, though.

I'm brand new to Ubuntu and Linux in general, so I don't know what to do with this information. I'm really sorry, but I need this in a bit simpler english.

Nope,

Oh wow, I completely missed that. I'm right on it.

Altered script so that it would run wine version 1.5.4-xliveless3-rawinput3. Got past the launcer to the main menu. Selected new game. Game froze on the loading screen. Install script log is below
