Hi all... I recently installed Diablo 3 and it worked perfectly sound and all and played great. I then went through and installed on another virtual drive EQ2 so I wouldn't mess up the first and now I have two games running perfectly but now sound.

I notice when I go to config wine inside POL it doesn't give me the -

... option to pick anymore in any of the games! I lost my analog drive but I have the digital option! Weird, so I was wondering if anyone has heard of that here?

p.s. no search option on the website makes it hard to look for solutions....

that is very strange.
Do you still have audio in Linux?
We could try a few things.
Sometimes I had this problem in Mint 13 where the audio kept switching to HDMI audio instead of analog.
I had to manually switch it back every time I logged in.
So try going to settings/audio and checking which device is currently set.

Also, try doing a windows reboot in PlayOnLinux in Configure/Wine
Maybe that will fix it.

Yes, I still have sound and I found the culprit, which really sucks!

I have 3 games installed and it doesn't matter which one I go to... I still loose sound, before I start the games I've been loading mumble client. It seems to be highjacking the analog output for my sound and not letting anyone else see it, "games".... If I start the games first, they load and can select the audio option analog because it is still there. I then try to open mumble and it can't give me sound because someone is using the sound card, "games".... I guess it needs to take over the sound card! All my friends are on mumble and that's how we communicate :( .... I know this is a mumble problem so I'll take it to them. Thanks for the help and I'll come back and let everyone know what happend.

Dang, that sucks! There has got to be a way to share sound hardware with Mumble and Wine.
Audio hardware does it all the time!
Playing music, streaming video, playing games....
Yes, please let us know what support at Mumble says.

By the way, nothing from mumble. I don't think they give a crap about gaming right now....

Here's a thought, is there some way to install mumble into the same installation of Everquest 2 and have it running inside playonlinux while I play my game. Would the two technically be using the same sound configuration of windows which I know works??? I would need some walk through on how to accomplish this but it would fix a big problem for quit a few users out there.....

Maybe even get multiple play on linux windows up and running same time? not sure how many resouced that would take though....

the windows mumble will probably install, but I have no idea what it requires to work in Wine and Linux.
Its worth a chance, but like you said about resources can be a problem...

I did a search for "mumble" on WineHQ and no official page, but its mentioned a few times.

I had issues with ALSA sharing between teamspeak and other audio apps including wine at the same time without using pulseaudio. When I updated some ALSA packages it fixed this issue as well as some high cpu usage on teamspeak. Maybe its the same issue for you with mumble.
