Hello!

My first thread was deleted, so I am going to attempt to make this one more informative. I am quite new to Playonmac and with running wine in general, so I apologize if I am leaving information out that is needed. If you would kindly tell me what I'm missing, I'll gladly find it for you.

I am running OSX Lion on a macbook pro attempting to get Anno 2070 to work through steam. I have installed the game through Playonmac through Steam (wine version 1.5.15) without a problem but it refused to launch after some auto updates.

The first time the application was launched, it installed 5 items, which worked as far as I could tell. However after this was done, nothing launched. On the second (and every subsequent) attempt it tries to update Direct X and Performance Benchmark. After those messages fade there are no error messages, no bug report, I'm simply left looking at Steam with no apparent changes.

In an attempt to troubleshoot, I downloaded the game on my PC. It seems that Ubisoft requires users to download their steam-like application, Uplay. On the PC, this downloaded and launched through Steam flawlessly, but playonmac is not auto-downloading/auto-launching upon an attempted game launch. Is POM even able to download this application?

As I mentioned earlier, if any additional information will be helpful please just ask for it (along with perhaps a helpful tip on how to get it for you.) I have only used playonmac to get one program working through Steam (torchlight 2) so am quite unfamiliar with its intricacies.

System Specs:
Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5

Thanks!

Ok. Excellent. Could you post the debug output from this that virtual drive real quick? That should give us some starting points to work with.

This is everything from today, 7/16. I skimmed through it and didn't see anything plainly relevant to the launching of Anno 2070. Normally when I launch the program in windows, Uplay launches. Another perhaps irrelevant piece of information is that when I click "play" to launch anno, my steam friends see the message that says I've started playing the game.

Delete the virtual drive and try to install it again from the script. Also, it make sure the xQuartz installed all of the way, as it looks like it didnt.

More than anything, it looks like PlayOnMac didnt install right or didnt create the virtual drive right.

I would actually fully uninstall POM and delete the POM folder, then try to download and reinstall it. I think that might be the issue.
