Well, I suppose that after all those years we've been all "trained" to expect files to have specific extensions. Once I've been told that .pol extension was used for PlayOnLinux packages and not PlayOnLinux scripts, I made my mind and never used this extension again for scripts.
Nothing to be ashamed of :D

.pol are .tar.bz2 files (wineversion, stand-alone scripts, plugins, ...)

For scripts, we do not have extension for the moment. But we can invent one

That might be handy, just for homogeneity.

Now that I figured out that codeing in POL script is Similar to coding in JAVA and to use Kate instead of Librea Office Writter to make sure the correct ASCII code is used for Quotes, then it becomes esasy to learn POL scripting.

How about pts for PlayOnLinux test script?

well, he meant for ALL scripts. There is no need to say its a test script, because all scripts have to be approved before they are available to playonlinux. Running a local script is no different than running the ones that are on our servers.

Maybe .pis (PlayOnLinux Install Script)?

I was rereading through this thread and I noticed that you mistakenly called Raing Ringtail beta. You should kno that the Ubuntu devs. have said that Raring Ringtail is no longer in beta. In fact they have a new version that is in alpha I forgot what is called but Raring Ringtail is out of beta and should not have any major problems. I didn't upgrade beyong Persice until they said that.

Id dint mistakenly call it that. Everything that is NOT an LTS version may be stable, but is still an experimental release, and usually have more problems than an LTS version.

I use nothing but LTS versions, and never have a fraction of the problems that non-LTS users have.

I have always said that it should be CONSIDERED beta, and they even say when you go to look at the descriptions that the non-LTS versions are for people wanting to test new features and are NOT recommended for stability in a production environment.

What does that even matter in this thread? Stay on topic. lol
