hey guys i got some trouble here

when i try to install shivering isles, it kicks me out when i have to choose the installation folder, it just says access denied and nothing happens then so the script ends and leads me to the report bug thing

i hope you can help me

i got installed ubuntu 13.04
-specs. intel i5 ivy 3210m
nvidia geforce gt650 m 2g gddr5 with the new 319.12 driver
8gb ddr3
.play on linux is on version 4.2.1

So, as per forum rules and stickies, we need computer specs, linux version, etc etc etc, as well as debug output.

I really wish we had an option to force users to read the rules before making their first post. hahaha. :)

Hey gezze, How did you begin the installation?
Were you clicking install and then searched for Oblivion?

Normally to install a patch, mod or expansion I do this:
1. click Configure
2. Select virtual drive
3. Miscellaneous tab
4. click "run a .exe file in this virtual drive"

Then the installer should launch and install the files.
The expansions for Oblivion are pretty simple, just a bunch of files in a folder that are recognized by the game when you activate them in the data manager.

yes, it worked out very well and of the data was accepted automatially ;)

Yeah. Any time you install a patch, and the script doesnt work, you can manually install it. I find that works best, anyway.

hahaha. I didnt say that manual installs are bad, just that scripts should work for initial installs. Scripts only usually fail if:

The game changes something

end-users computer has something missing

downloads fail

Hopefully this works for you OP.
