Hello.
I've been using PlayOnMac for some time, and have had success with many of my favorite applications and games with it. However, I noticed that for some reason, I can't seem to get the Mac Drivers to work with any of the versions of Wine (from 1.5.28 onward) from PlayOnMac.
I searched around and it says to enable the Mac drivers, I had to add the following to the registry editor:
[Software\\\\Wine\\\\Drivers] 1373122578 "Graphics"="mac,x11"
According to the FAQs on the MacOSX page, 1.5.28 has these drivers enabled by default. However I can't get the programs to run using these drivers; I can only use the X11 drivers. Forcing to use the Mac Drivers gives me the following error:
[07/06/13 14:29:18] - Running wine-1.5.28 AKOGARE.EXE (Working directory : /Users/Pretamrin/Library/PlayOnMac/wineprefix/SonoHana_13/drive_c/Program Files/ゆりんゆりん/その花びらにくfixme:time:GetCalendarInfoW Unimplemented caltype 4
fixme:time:GetCalendarInfoW Unimplemented caltype 3
Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
The graphics driver is missing. Check your build!
err:systray:initialize_systray Could not create tray window
Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.

This is being run with the latest version of PlayOnMac on Mac OSX 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion) on a Mac MIni.
To check, I tried using other applications such as Wineskin and WineBottler and the Mac Drivers work properly there. Is there a step that I'm missing, or is this not supported by the Wine builds provided by PlayOnMac? If the latter is the case, will there be support for Mac Drivers in future versions of Wine? Thanks in advance for your time.

For the moment, our wine builds are compiled on a linux machine. Therefore, the mac driver is not yet compatible.
We are working on it, but in reality you should not really need it with PlayOnMac for the moment :)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I suppose X11 is fine, but it would be nice to have the option to use the native graphics interface on Mac. The benefits of having a native interface isn't big, but it does give a better feel and look and you wouldn't have to install XQuartz/X11.
Nonetheless, everything I've used so far with PlayOnMac has been working great so far, so it's not a huge deal. That being said, is there a way for me compile and test a version of Wine with Mac Drivers enabled so that it can work on PlayOnMac? I would like to test it out for stability issues and such if possible.

I have such a build on my computer, but it has been modified a little for the need of one of our customers.
I can still give it to you though, but it won't really interesting for you. I can ask Aymeric to build the latest version for you if you want

That sounds great. I would greatly appreciate you asking Aymeric to do that. Thanks!

While I'm waiting to hear back from Quentin/Aymeric, I decided to go ahead to try and make my own version of 1.6-rc4 with the Mac Driver enabled. It functions properly for a lot of programs and games (it doesn't make the programs run any worse which is good).
One major problem I noticed is that PlayOnMac cannot complete the process of creating a virtual drive. Unless I revert to the X11 drivers, Wine will never open, thus never finishing the process.
I'm not sure why as to that is considering everything else works with the Mac drivers, and I have no way to really see how the virtual drive making process work.
I noticed that rc5 of 1.6 has just been released, so I'll test that version out and see if the virtual drive situation improves. That was pretty much my only problem so far. I'll continue testing on other software soon.

Yes, it's a bug from winehq I've also noticed recently. I need to report it to them but I have no time to make a full / clean report at the moment

I got a chance to try out the final version of Wine 1.6 with Mac Drivers enabled, and works pretty well with all the apps I've tried. It looks like I still have the same problem with the virtual drive creation process, so hopefully that will be fixed sometime in the future.
