Hi, I have tried every combination possible almost and still can not get this game to load and play. Can someone please post a link or instructions please?
I am using a linux Ubuntu version 13.04
I have a Intel G33 x86/MMX/SSE2 graphics card and Intel dual core 2 cpu.
I can get Warcraft III to install without any errors, but when I try to patch the game to 1.26a in playonlinux at the end of the installation, it runs the game I think, as the screen turns black and this black screen will then go full screen (which I think maybe is the problem) and I see the beggining splash screen sometimes but get nothing else.....
How can get this to work??
What is the insall component called "video driver" in the list when running playonlinux to configure?
I my video card the problem?
If so, what is the best video card to get and run with linux Ubuntu and playonlinux?
Thanks in advance

Cool off bro... You posted on the weekend and I don't usually check the forum on the weekend... too busy playing games. Also give us a few days to respond :) Will it launch without the patch? What video card are you using? Did you install the drivers for your video card? Wine is saying that it can't find plugplay.exe I've been researching and can't seem to find any useful information on it. There are a LOT of tips on WineHQ website: Warcraft 3The intro video could be causing a problem too. They suggest:
After installing the game, its highly recommended that you browse to your Warcraft III folder and rename the movies folder. Many people crash from the movies because of buggy sound drivers, or simply hang, so you should do this in case you are one of them. You can still play the movies under mplayer (or xine if you so choose)! TutorialIn.mpq is the very first cinematic of the game, and for the rest; *Op.mpq is the cinematic at the start of the campaign and *Ed.mpq is the cinematic and the end. If you wanted to follow the story, it's not hard at all to play the ones corresponding where you are at.

Your sour attitude is not appreciated, sir.
We are a team of VOLUNTEERS, and there are only about 7 of us, so you need to learn to be patient. This is your only warning, as I will bust out the ban-stick next time.
You also did not post up all of your debug output, so it would be impossible to tell what exactly is going on.
The newest intel drivers should already be on your system, but from what I understand, those video cards are not that powerful.
wine: cannot find L"C:\\\\windows\\\\system32\\\\plugplay.exe"
That could be an issue....
[07/01/13 00:41:14] - Running wine-1.2.3 /media/root/Warcraft III/install.exe
Hmmmm. Most games do not have an "install.exe", but a "setup.exe"..
This wouldnt happen to be an ISO that you mounted or a copy that you downloaded, is it?
So work with us or dont, but no more attitude.....

On top of that, you only waited LESS THAN 24 hours to start crying about no help. Are you sure you understand how POL functions in relation to wine? Did you do any reading while waiting for a response? I was online ALL day yesterday, and you must have posted right after I went to sleep. Patience patience patience patience....

I knew there were setup.exe for most games regardless of CD/DVD or download, but I didn't know about install.exe Specially with a Blizzard game! Interesting posting the debug and what it can tell us...

So, I just searched, and when I look for:
warcraft 3 install.exe
I get a bunch of torrent sites and file download sites, which leads me to believe that this is a bootleg version of Warcraft 3, and we DO NOT support bootlegging of ANY kind, and will not help with install if this is true. So, please post the FULL debug output, so that we can troubleshoot.

Oh, and if you are trying to run Warcraft III - Reign Of Chaos, or any other version of Warcraft 3 that is not the original one, the script will most likely fail, if you are using a script.

Dont use that. It has nothing to do with what you are trying to do.
If so, what is the best video card to get and run with linux Ubuntu and playonlinux?
Any good quality Nvidia card. I, for instance, run an Nvidia GT 640, and Im happy with its performance.

Good call! I'll search for unique installers like that too. I agree with NOT helping pirated software installations.
