Hello everyone, I have been using POL for years now and I love it. One of the main things I run in POL in Photoshop. I have recently upgraded to CS6 (it's Wonderful btw), but im running into an issue.
If I use wine version, 1.3.34 then everything works perfectly except the type tool.
if I use any version of wine above 1.3.34, then the type tool works perfectly but the brushes, erasers, etc, don't work properly.
This has been filed as a bug and a patch has been released for wine, you can find it HERE.
My question is I have no idea how to patch wine, I read the how-to on the wine wiki, but then my issue is I have no clue what Git is or how to use it.
Would anyone here be willing or able to help me apply this patch to the proper version of wine (1.4), and tell me how to use the patched wine in POL?
It wouldn't be a bad idea to include this patched version of wine in the list of available wine versions as this bug affects at-least CS5 and CS6. I know Photoshop has to be one of the most run apps in wine, and both CS5/CS6 have gold ratings on the wine db.
Other than this bug with the brushes Photoshop CS6 runs absolutely beautiful, even the new 3D stuff works like a charm.
Thank you, Chris

We have an automated system for wine builds. You can request a wine build in the bug section here: http://www.playonmac.com/en/bugs.htmlInclude the link to the patch and the wine version you want to use, and any thing special that AppDB says to compile with (usually nothing), and our system will build it and put it in Manage Wine Versions in POLs Tools menu.

Do I just post it in the bug tracker or am I missing something?

I have filed a bug report, I hope I followed everything correctly, I was a little unsure. I posted what I filed below.
Photoshop CS5 & CS6 have an issue while dragging the mouse to use things such as brushes or erasers.
There is a fix for the issue, it can be found HERE. The patch was made for wine version 1.4-rc3. I assume the name of the build would be "x.x.x - photoshop"
Would it be possible to apply the patch to wine ver 1.5.30? wine 1.4 had some very bad font smoothing issues with the photoshop ui. 1.5.30, fixed the font smoothing issue, as well as the Photoshop splash screen not displaying correctly.

Go back and add that to the bug report. You can just open it and add comments, I believe.

Hi, I have the same problem. Has been done anything in this way? Photoshop looks (and works) great with wine 1.7 but the brush problem persists and I haven been able to compile wine with the patch

Hello, I'm a little bit confused. The wine-patch for Photoshop CS5/CS6 is added to the github 4 months ago and did not appear in the wine tool list. It would be very nice if you can add this custom wine build: https://github.com/PlayOnLinux/wine-patches/tree/master/custom/photoshop-cs5

Sorry,
I'm a little new on that an I haven't understood very well. If the request is done (and I understand it is), we can only wait? or we have to do another request.
thank you for your help
