Ok, then you need sudo access on your system. If you are using your password and its not working, then you do not have permission to do that.

Im not sure why, but the instructions I give for installing the nvidia drivers are the exact same way I have done it for a long time, and it works every time.

Did you install Ubuntu on your system, or did someone else? Whoever owns that system needs to give you permissions to install/change things via sudo.

it's a free copy of Zorin OS and i install it my self. May i need a new linux OS?

I have never heard of Zorin OS, so I dont know how you would install those drivers on there. I wouldnt use it from just looking at it, though. lol. I think you would have an easier time with a more popular distro like Ubuntu, Mint, OpenSUSE, CentOS, or something like that.

i got coz i could make short cut/links easier then ubuntu and has a simaler theme to windows
Ronin DUSETTE Thursday 6 June 2013 at 20:39
Ronin DUSETTE

Yeah. Dont worry about that. Shortcuts and links are such a small part of the whole operatins system, its not really a good point to use some random OS just because of something like that. You also should read the instructions for whatever operating system you choose. You cant learn if you dont read the instructions for your OS. :)

Also, screw Windows. Lol. You dont need a similar theme to Windows. Try Kubuntu 12.04.2. You can get it from Kubuntu.org

That has the title bar at the bottom, and somewhat feels like WIndows, but think about it. You are using Linux. Not Windows. hhahahaha. Exlpore your OS. Everything is where it should be. I mean, click Programs and Internet, and there is all of your internet stuff. If you actually read the icons, all Operating Systems for the most part are very self explanatory. If you want something like Windows, get Windows. :)

Long story short, get a more mainstream distro like listed above, install it, read the directions and refer to them when you need to learn something, and you will know your OS faster than you think. That will also make it easier to support your future issues, considering most have not heard of Zorin OS.

Yeah. Kubuntu is like that. Mint is a good one, too. I actually use Kubuntu, but put my bar at the top, but its at the bottom left to begin with. I think that will work great for you. Its all I use.

I really like Mint for users moving from Win to Linux. It has a very simple Nvidia driver installation.
Also they have kept most of the keyboard shortcuts and window functions the same.
So you can be just as productive as in Win.

I'm using Fedora 18 on my server and ChrUbuntu on my Chromebook. They are extremely different from Win interfaces.
Start menu - gone
Address bar - gone
Task manager/System monitor - gone
Shutdown button - gone

you get the idea...

Nope, you still have to install Wine first, then PlayOnLinux.
You will probably need the curl packages for PlayOnLinux to run

You still need to install your Nvidia drivers as stated before. The newest drivers from Nvidias website.

You will still need to download PlayOnLinux from the Download section of our site.

You will need to install curl and p7zip-full manually, but the playonlinux 4.2.1 .DEB should do the rest for you.
