When trying to load a saved game eithier from the hard drive or the Steam cloud, it starts to  load then errors with a run time quit error! I have tried twice with Russia and one of the G&K civs.

It also always causes my system to freeze requiering me to kill all Steam processes!

What version of Wine are you using for Steam?

Try using the Debug button when you launch... It may give you some errors

I read this on WineHQ.org: "To load this game need to enable all needed mods in mods settings"

Someone else wrote about installing component: d3d9x_36
Then set it to "native" in Wine Configuration.

Does it run if you start a new game?
Are you copying Windows saves and using them with PlayOnLinux?

I found out what was going on. I didn't know you have to manually reenable the mods every time you launch the game. I was used to other games that automatically figure out which ones are needed for a saved game. I hope Civ. 6 does it automatically. The manual should say you need to select them everytime you launch the game so, players know it won't automatically select them.

Good point! The game or mod should at least warn you or notify you. I've had the same problem with Oblivion mods. You have to enable them before you launch the game and the only warnings are in the mod documentation.

I'm glad its working now.

Exactly... glad you got it working and I'm happy to find that mods are working on Linux too.
