Well, SMITE is becoming increasingly more popular. It's kinda like League, but... more "godly"
I really would love it if someone could make some script to run this huge game (It's like 2.3 gigs)

Wow, 2.6 Gigs!!! Crazy because Drakensang Online is a HUGE game with hundreds of assets but is a tiny download with the thinclient, then uses Java to load the levels and data. SMITE must be avoiding Java (and all the stinking security issues) and sticking with an actual game download. Looks pretty cool though, are the maps linear or open-world?

From what I saw, it's more like a MOBA like DOTA 2 or League Of Legends, but the map and playstyle is a lot more different. You can check a couple of videos of it or something, if you want to see a bit of action in SMITE.

If nobody makes a script for ya, try manual installation. I use manual installation for almost all of my games and have the most success. I'll try to download it today and see if what windows packages it requires... Then I'll test it tomorrow or the next day... depending on time available. Someone on WineHQ got it installed, but couldn't login But that was closed Beta. Now that its openbeta, I wonder if it will work?

One thing I already noticed, is you have to download and installer that will download the client. I'm not sure if this will work in Linux, but I'll have to try tomrrow to run the installer first in PlayOnLinux. If it runs ok, then I can start the client download. I was searching for just a client download, but the ones I found on Softpedia and Filefront are old.

I tried the installer this morning and had problems running it. Remember this is the "installer" just to download the game! I posted my error on WineHQ: Smite BetaSo basically, I couldn't even get the game to start downloading

Crap, he's just playing... didn't show us anything. Maybe he's using Parallels? Who knows if he's using Wine at all

Ah, it all makes sense now. Smite is still in beta correct? Maybe when its finally released there will be some changes that allows Wine to play it...
