ooooo k

FYI, I have been seeing key combos not working correctly in Ubuntu (specifically when using Unity with regular Ubuntu). If you are running Unity, you may want to try KDE, XFCE, or any other Desktop Environment, just to see if it works.

Now I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LST.
Also got wine v 1.15
PlayOnLinux 4.0.14-1

In Linux I can use alt + other keys, like tab or mouse or shift. But in wine windows, Alt+key combinations are diactivated or I think just not added as a option. Should I look for scripts or You need more info ?)
Ps Sorry for not posting some info about the system at the start.

Its all good. :)

So, whats been happening lately, is that just regular Ubuntu (not Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Mint, or any other *buntu) is running an interface called Unity, and I think that its hijacking the keyboard shortcuts. Ive seen this in quite a few programs lately.

So, for wine, you need to have 1.4.1 installed in your system via your package manager (software center).

Next, you need to download PlayOnLinux version 4.2.1. The one you have is in the software center, but Ubuntu's versions can be really old sometimes. You can get the newest version of PlayOnLinux here:

http://www.playonmac.com/en/download.html

Just download the DEB file and run it, and it will install the newest version of POL for you.

Now, remember, that we are not running ANYTHING from Wine, actually. We are running everything through PlayOnLinux. You just need to have a stable version of Wine installed on your system, but thats it. Any work with wine will be done inside of POL.

So, upgrade Wine to 1.4.1 (its in the software center) and PlayOnLinux to 4.2.1 (use the link that I gave you) and let me know when thats done. Then we will continue. :)
