Try and open it from within WoT, if you can.

What is the file format? Maybe you can play them through VLC? VLC plays damn near everything. haha

hehe. True about vlc :) but it's not a video format. i think it can only be opened with world of tanks because the file extension is '.wotreplay' (i guess it's like an interactive video, where we can change camera position, etc).
Well, i'll keep trying to figure this out. and when i do... muahahaha!
thanks

About the replays, I have found an (ugly) way to watch replays: In the configure section of playonlinux interface, you have a box to write arguments for the program. If you copy there the route to the replay you want to watch (replays/replayname.wotreplay) it will work fine.

As I said it's an ugly method, but since I'm a playonlinux noob, for the moment I'll be glad to be able to use it, if a bit awkward but it works.

Yeah. Honestly, this game is super buggy through wine, anyway, so its pretty much best effort. Unless someone starts reporting Wine bugs to the Wine dev team, then yeah. Pretty much at the whim of the state of wine. Im sure there are people out there that would be willing to write patches, and if its in high enough demand, and also cleanly-written, there is a good chance it will get merged, like every other patch. Its all community driven. I, for one, would like to see this game work better through wine. Hit up appdb.winehq.org and see if there is more info posted recently, or maybe bug reports open that you can contribute to.

Well the easiest way to watch a World of Tanks replay is still to just open it with your Internet browser. Then when it asks you with which application you would like to open the replay, go to your World of Tanks directory and choose the WorlofTanks.exe, NOT The WOTLauncher.exe! and there you go the replay should run without any problems.

Hey all, just came to this thread and found an alternative that works if you like typing :-)

(I save a lot of typing by using the wildcard * here because tab-completion didn't work in the wine cmd box. You might be able to find a way to enable it but I'm no CMD expert)

* In PlayOnMac click WorldOfTanks and hit the Configure link at the right
* Hit the "Wine" tab and click "Command Prompt". This opens a cmd.exe box in the wine world. Type the bold stuff below, or something very similar if your setup varies.

Wine CMD Version 5.1.2600 (1.6-rc5)

Z:\Applications\PlayOnMac.app\Contents\Resources\playonlinux\python>c:

C:\>cd G*

C:\Games>cd W*

C:\Games\World_of_Tanks>dir replays

Here is the information I've been looking for! (http://gaspuu.blogspot.com/2014/04/wot-on-ubuntu-linux.html
)
"The only interesting part is how to run the game reply in let say comfortable way:

  1. Start your Play on Linux and select your World of Tanks installation
  2. Click Configure
  3. In tab General choose Make a new shortcut from this virtual drive and call it e.g. WorldOfTanksReplay
  4. Refer to worldoftanks.exe (not WOTlauncher!)
  5. Again under General tab use following in the Argument filed: replays/replay_last_battle.wotreplay

6. Than close and create shortcut on your desktop if you want
7. One of important settings is in WOT itself - in your settings choose Enable battle recording - Last"

I no longer (as of 9.9) see replay_last_battle.wotreplay as a file, so just copy and paste the filename you wish to replay, but remember to put the "replays/" before it.

Enjoy!
