Looking for some help: I just purchased Baldur's Gate 2: Complete from GOG.com. It is listed as a supported program by PlayOnMac but I am running into an error during installation that causes it to crash. The error message is as follows:
"An assertion failed in Chitin.cpp at line number 1628 Programmer says: error initializing key table, bad key file"
After that message pops up it crashes and the installation stops. I would really appreciate help with this problem. Thanks in advance.

First, hi. Are you sure your install files are not corrupted? I suggest reinstalling which checking "Check files integrity before installation" in GOG installer options. If the problem persist, submitting an automated bug report may help. By the way, almost none of my scripts are tested on Mac, since I don't have one. In such case, the site policy is to enable script for PlayOnMac too, unless some incompatibility is reported. I'm considering flagging all those scripts as "beta" on Mac, but if everything is flagged as such I'm not sure it will help users in any way. What we need is more Mac testers.

I also haven't updated Playonmac to the most recent version. Could that be the issue? I'm not really sure how to update it without just reinstalling and losing all my games.

I don't know what version you have, but the script has been around for almost a year, and doesn't seem to use any recent features (otherwise I would have added a constraint on client version anyway), so I doubt it matters. (Leaving to a PoM user to explain how to upgrade)

I updated and tried again- still no luck. Same error message. I filed an official error report though.

Really? I definitely did one yesterday. Looks like I'll have to try again.

I am having similar issues with several other GOG.com games including Planescape: Torment, Forgotten Realms: Demonstone, and Dungeons and Dragons: Dragonshard. These are all supported programs by PlayOnMac but all crash on installation. I have sent error reports on each one (at least I think). Edited by Celebrant Joker

Given that nobody in the team has both a Mac and any of those games, I suppose those reports are still open.

What can I do to try and get these games working then?

Actually I found only one bug report from you, concerning Heroes of Might and Magic 3: http://www.playonmac.com/en/issue-1843.html
