My current language is U.S. english I changed it from Canadian English which it was before. Turned off the computer and still have the same problem with U.S. english.

You are not typing the whole command, as its stating. You forgot the "defaults write" before the rest of the command

Type:

defaults write -g AppleLocale en_US

Hey I'm having that same problem where the message "playonmac cannot run because of bad language settings on your computer" pops up

I tried writing defaults write -gAppleLocale en_US on terminal but it it didn't work. This is the message I got:

Rep argument is not a dictionary
Defaults have not been changed.

Can someone help me please?
