Torchlight 2 Issue

So I was able to get steam installed and working fine then bought and downloaded Torchlight 2.  It installed fine and even loaded Direct X fine.  However when the game loads I hear the music but my screen is black except for the Mac bar on the top of the screen.  Any thoughts?
