CommentsInstalling The Sims 3 on Linux Mint 13 64-bits did install Wine 1.3.4 for the 32-bits version.
Because of this, the shortcut does not work:
~/Bureau $ /usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "The Sims 3"
[POL_System_SetArch] Message: POL_ARCH set to amd64
[POL_Wine_SetVersionEnv] Message: Setting wine version path: 1.3.4, amd64
[POL_Wine_SetVersionEnv] Message: Wine 1.3.4 not installed
Manually installing Wine 1.3.4 for amd64 then gives the following error message:
[POL_System_SetArch] Message: POL_ARCH set to amd64
[POL_Wine_SetVersionEnv] Message: Setting wine version path: 1.3.4, amd64
[POL_Wine_SetVersionEnv] Message: "/home/spontex/.PlayOnLinux//wine/linux-amd64/1.3.4" exists
[POL_Wine] Message: Running wine-1.3.4
wine: cannot find ''
[POL_Wine] Message: Wine return: 87
I had to manually edit the "~/.PlayOnLinux/shortcuts/The Sims 3" script to specify the location where I have installed the game.
Then the game launches but gives me an error message "The disc cannot be found".
Exiting the game quits my Linux session. With Wine 1.3.4 I cannot log in again. With Wine "system" I can log in again.
