Hey, newbie here... where do I apply this fix?

There is no "Install" button for POL internal functions unlike normal applications. You have to manually insert this fix
Anonymous
Thursday 20 September 2018 at 22:17
by adding that line in config.vdf

TBH PlayOnLinux4 is getting outdated. I'm porting some of the scripts to POL5 https://github.com/PhoenicisOrg/phoenicis but you will probably have to learn a thing or two about JavaScript.

The previous update had an incorrectly named variable that stores wineprefix's architecture. This update fixes that.

As of June 1 2018, downloading games and updates is no longer possible due to Steam throwing up the "content servers unreachable" error. This error is solved by either using Wine Staging >2.12 or inserting a line at the end of this script. Due to an inability to verify certificates signed using an ECDSA signature this line is not present in a clean Steam install. Also adding the Steam Browser fix.

Forgot to write this so here we go:
winewebhleper.exe and Steam.exe need to be run with winxp or else the CEF sandboxing will break the browser. Need to add x32 version.

If anyone knows what's the name of the variable that stores information about wineprefix's architecture please tell me because I'm not sure and I want to post a definitive fix for this script.

I have found the POL Steam to work somewhat well for me. I have used it to play Undertale, to much great success, however, I have had a few issues. I often have trouble with connection to the Internet on this Steam, while having no trouble with the Linux Steam in that matter. Just recently now, I got the game RWBY: Grimm Eclipse, notable from the other games I have here only in that is HAS to be multiplayer. When I launch the game, and it goes to the connecting screen, I get nothing. Looking at the game's output log, it says I am getting a TimeOutDisconnect whenever I try to connect. After quitting the game, I noticed that a Steam chat window I had open was no longer connected to the Network, and nor was my Steam client. However, beforehand, and while it was trying to connect, it was working just fine. Is there any possible fix to this problem, where I cannot properly connect to the network with a POL Steam game?

A little more information for the user to make it clearer as to what "should" be happening. Also included localization support.

Gives time for Steam to update after initial install and restart. Prevents POL scripts calling this function from hanging after Steam updates (as seen in Fallout 3 script). Also gives a little more guidance to the user as to what they should see happening and what they should do.

Calling the POL_Wine OverrideDLL "" "dwrite" seems to prevent Steam from launching without text as seen in the Fallout 3 installer.
